In Ms. Driscoll’s class students learned that the air in indoor environments can often be more polluted than in outdoor environments.  After some research, the students discovered that indoor air quality can actually be improved by cultivating plants.  They also learned that NASA had done several successful studies in space!

As a class, they decided to improve the air quality in their own classroom and in every other classroom in the school too!  With help from our local Lowes Garden Department, various plants were collected that were proven to help clean air indoors.  These plants were distributed and placed in the Trash to Treasure Flower Pots.

To insure all classrooms learned the same message, Ms. Driscoll’s students created a video that was aired on the school’s morning news show.  In the video, students discussed how to properly care for the plants and why they were so important to have inside a classroom.

Great work!
